My Experience as a Creative Intern at Social Lab

Working at Social Lab has been a truly dynamic and fulfilling journey. It provided me with the opportunity to engage in meaningful work centered around social impact and sustainability. Collaborating with a team of passionate individuals, I gained invaluable insights into problem-solving, teamwork, and the power of grassroots efforts in driving meaningful change. This experience not only helped me strengthen my communication and organizational skills but also deepened my understanding of social work and community engagement.

Learnings

On a personal level, sitting alongside the team every day turned out to be an incredible opportunity for growth. It significantly enhanced my communication and teamwork skills as a creative intern. One of the most important lessons I learned during my time at Social Lab is that one-time donations or efforts are not enough. To ensure long-term, holistic development, it’s essential to empower communities by teaching them how to sustainably maintain and manage initiatives on their own.

My internship at Social Lab has been a major milestone in my professional growth, offering me a wealth of skills and experiences. Through my involvement, I gained hands-on experience in both fieldwork and office work, allowing me to bridge theory with practice. I learned to effectively align schedules and manage programs using tools like Google Calendar, Google Sheets, and ClickUp, which enhanced my organizational and time-management skills. Additionally, I developed my creative abilities, particularly in Canva design and handbook development, adding a new dimension to my expertise. I also gained valuable insights into organizational culture and workplace ethics, deepening my understanding of professional environments.

Fieldwork Experience

The fieldwork was one of the most exciting and rewarding aspects of my internship. It was heartwarming to see the students’ faces light up with hope and admiration during our visits. The teachers were equally dedicated and collaborative, making every activity we participated in a success. Additionally, the endless support and care from the Social Lab team during field visits made the experience even more memorable and impactful.

Suggestions and Recommendations

I truly cherished my time at Social Lab, particularly the positive and inclusive office environment that made every day enjoyable.
