Ajit Bhatta

Ajit Bhatta is the Founder and Executive Director of Social Lab, a platform dedicated to driving innovative and impact-driven solutions in Nepal’s social sector. He holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Kathmandu University School of Arts and has completed several specialized programs from institutions including Bard College, the University of Virginia, and Lund University. With over nine years of experience in humanitarian project management and more than five years as a social entrepreneur, Ajit brings a diverse and impactful skill set. His work spans policy development, innovation, and environmental and social governance, with a strong focus on designing and implementing initiatives that advance human well-being and sustainable development.

Kushal Achhami

Kushal Achhami is the Co-founder and Head of Business Development at Social Lab.  He did his Master’s in Development Studies from Kathmandu University School of Arts. A seasoned social entrepreneur, he brings over nine years of professional experience at the intersection of humanitarian work and business development. Kushal plays a key role in scaling the organization by leading efforts in resource mobilization, business model innovation, financial forecasting, and strategic growth planning.

Namgyal Ghale

Namgyal Ghale serves as the Senior Project Coordinator at Social Lab. With over seven years of professional experience in humanitarian and social development sectors, he brings strong critical thinking, grassroots innovation, strategic planning, and team leadership skills. A passionate development professional, Namgyal has worked extensively in community building, project management, and innovative education across diverse, multicultural environments. He holds academic qualifications in Social Sciences and Development Studies

Smriti Purkoti

Smriti Purkoti is a Health Consultant at Social Lab with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science, specializing in Geriatric Nursing. She delivers impactful sessions on health, illness, and community awareness, designing practical and engaging programs that empower individuals with essential knowledge for disease prevention and self-care. With a strong foundation in healthcare education, she translates complex medical concepts into accessible, real-life practices, contributing to healthier and more informed communities.

Project Associate

Anisha Shakya

Anisha Shakya is a Project Associate at Social Lab Nepal, leading the Mountain is Hers Too (MoHER) project. With a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, she coordinates mentorship activities and supports participants through their Advanced Trekking Guide Readiness (ATR) journey as the program’s key point of contact. She is passionate about travel and exploring diverse cultures.

Fellow

Pratik karki

Pratik Karki (Pranim) is an FSM Field Fellow at Social Lab Nepal and a fourth-year Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) student at Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus. With over nine years of experience in child-focused sectors, he has worked as a trainer, facilitator, and child rights advocate, promoting the well-being and empowerment of children.
He is also actively engaged with the Gokarneshwor Municipality Child Rights Committee as a facilitator for youth and child networks. Passionate about social impact, Pratik finds purpose in creating meaningful change and joy in the lives of children. Outside of work, he enjoys bike riding and vlogging.

Fellow

Bijay Kumar Das

Bijay is an FSM Fellow of Social Lab Nepal based in Madhesh Province. A Bachelor’s graduate in Education, he brings three years of experience in community development through the LIRIC project at Bhairavi Manch. He has served as a Youth Champion Coordinator and climate change advocate in Batteswor Rural Municipality, mobilizing youth for grassroots action. Alongside his development work, Bijay is also a local singer and program host, integrating culture and community engagement.

ME Intern

Prerana Tamang

Prerana Tamang is a final-year Bachelor’s student in Business Management and a Marketing Executive Intern at Social Lab Nepal. She supports lead generation and grant sourcing through email marketing and outreach, working closely with the Business Development team. She also contributes to events, social media, and marketing activities. Passionate about community engagement, she believes in “paying it forward” and enjoys learning from diverse perspectives. In her free time, she plays table tennis.
