One-Day Teacher’s Bootcamp Organized in Collaboration with Godawari Municipality, Ward 06
Social Lab, in partnership with Godawari Municipality (Ward 06), successfully organized a one-day Teacher’s Bootcamp, bringing together 30 teachers from three different schools. Participants from Shree Balsudhar Basic School (Dakchinkali), Shree Saraswoti Basic School (Godawari), and Shree Deurali Basic School (Godawari) attended the event, which focused on the theme “Understanding Curriculum, Text, and Pedagogy in Public Primary Schools.”
The bootcamp was facilitated by Poonam Kuinkel from Life-long Learning Mandala, an experienced trainer renowned for her work in critical pedagogy. Her expertise provided valuable insights and practical strategies to the participating teachers, empowering them to enhance their teaching practices.

Social Lab’s Commitment to Transforming Education
Social Lab has been actively engaged in Nepal’s educational landscape, striving to promote lifelong learning, transform schools into joyful spaces, and create memorable learning experiences for public primary school students. As part of our holistic approach, we are dedicated to strengthening and empowering every aspect of the school system to address educational poverty. Our initiatives include training and capacity-building programs for local governments, parents, students, and teachers.
Recognizing the need for collaborative learning and idea exchange among educators, Social Lab launched the Teacher’s Bootcamp series. This platform aims to bring together partner schools to share experiences, learn from one another, practice active listening and empathy, and refine their pedagogical skills. The one-day bootcamp marked the beginning of this ongoing initiative, with plans to continue the series in the future.

Voices from the Bootcamp
Let’s hear what our participants had to say about their experience at the bootcamp:
Bijeta Khanal; Shree Balsudhar Basic School
“I had the opportunity to learn about critical and creative pedagogy, as well as other classroom-related topics, during the bootcamp. I learn insights into positive teaching methods that I will use to bring transformative changes in my students’ behavior. It was also enriching to learn from the experiences and ideas shared by teachers from other schools. I sincerely thank the Social Lab, Godawari Municipality and the participating schools for making this event a grand success.”
Gyanu Rana; Shree Deurali Basic School:
“Innovative programs conducted by Social Lab last year have been truly impactful for our school, students, and even us teachers. The thoughtful provision of school meals, RT, ELT & FSM, left a lasting impression—our students still fondly remember these contributions.
Today, the collaborative bootcamp comprising 3 schools was an empowering platform. It provided us with a valuable opportunity to reflect upon our own path and rearrange the approach. Overall, the teachers are delighted and grateful for this enriching experience”
Sanu Maya Loh; Shree Saraswoti Basic School
Even during the holidays, this bootcamp proved to be incredibly fruitful as it gave us the opportunity to connect with fellow teachers from three other schools. The sessions provided refreshing insights and a chance to learn new content and teaching techniques.
Considering today’s context, I believe ICT training is essential, and this program has highlighted its importance for effective teaching.
Poonam Kuinkel Sharma, Facilitator
As a facilitator of the Bootcamp on Critical and Creative Pedagogy for three public schools, I was inspired by the enthusiasm & commitment of the participating teachers. The Bootcamp was designed to reimagine classrooms as dynamic spaces where critical thinking, creativity & active student engagement flourish.
However, the true impact of the Bootcamp lies in its continuity. While the enthusiasm was evident, it is vital that the insights gained are consistently practiced in classrooms, coupled with regular self-reflection & documentation. With collective efforts & a focus on continuous improvement, I believe we can achieve lasting & impactful change in public education.
