Recreational Day
Recreational Day is an annual event organized by one of the partner schools and facilitated by Social Lab, to showcase their learnings, creativity, and achievements. This event celebrates the progress and talents of students while promoting collaboration and engagement among schools.
The main goal of Recreational Day is to foster inter-community school collaboration, co-learning, and create joyful experiences for children. Additionally, the event serves as an important platform to engage key stakeholders, potential collaborators, and government authorities. It highlights the impact of Social Lab’s initiatives, encouraging ongoing support for partner schools as we move toward project’s exit.

Through Recreational Day, we aim to strengthen community involvement and ensure sustainable growth for the schools we work with.
On 9th Falgun, 2081, Shree Saraswoti Basic School in Tika-Bhairav hosted the Recreational Day, with Shree Balsudhar Basic School from Dakchinkali also participating. During the event, students showcased their creative arts, engaged in recreational activities, and participated in group games. The event was graced by the Ward Chairperson, local representatives, SMC members, parents, and school heads from nearby areas. Though it was a competition, students participated with great enthusiasm and understanding, making the event enjoyable for everyone.
In terms of co-creation, Ward-06 of Godawari Municipality took responsibility for providing meals, preparing guest lists, and handling the overall venue arrangements. Ward-04 of Dakshinkali Municipality arranged transportation for their students to attend the event in Tika-Bhairav. Social Lab played a key role in providing technical assistance, logistics, and overall coordination.
While the concept of collaboration and co-creation is often discussed in abstract terms, this event demonstrated what co-creation truly looks like in practice on the ground.
